What qualities and skills should a good graphic designer have?

- One of the qualities of a good Graphic Designer is being a good listener. The ability to decipher the content from copywriters, developers and project managers is key in this industry. A good graphic designer should also stay up-to-date with the current creative trends that exist in the market. What brands do you most admire and how do they influence your work?

- At the moment, I admire Grey Global. They have been providing consistent branding & creative consultancy for over 50 years. I appreciate how they have analysts that collect project data, project managers that navigate the course of the project & digital designers & developers that interpret the overall appeal of the project based on all the aforementioned.

My creative process is like a chameleon. I change my approach towards a project based on the need & the audience. My preferred approach to logo design clean & minimal. My creative process & graphic development reflects that as well.

How do you measure the success of your designs?

- I measure the success of my designs based on the audience that my clients connect with. In my opinion - there has to be connectivity or relationship that must exist between brands & the overall audience. Although the audience can be fickle - the overall appeal (design) should be present to get the message across to the consumer. The success of a brand (design) to me is met when over 80% of the audience connects & buys into a product or service. Graphic or product design is the key element in that endeavor.

Accountability steps in when a particular design roll-out does not connect with the audience. There are levels to this creative process that start from the conception of an idea. Accountability starts when ideas are approved along the way. That can have a ripple effect to the entire team in that instance.
